Abstract
Aerial work platforms is a type of construction machinery which can raise people and things to a certain height. It is widely used in urban construction and a variety of outdoor jobs. Traditional design uses a safety factor method. This method is not only time consuming, but also it does not have a high precision. Now, using the finite element method and using ANSYS software to analysis and calculate not only has a high precision, but also we can clearly see the size of the entire stress, and improve them easily. First, according to the height which is required to achieve a high degree of 25m, select the overall structure of aerial work platforms, then to determine the length of each boom section and select the location of the hinge points. Then, according to the strength conditions to determine the cross-sectional dimensions of high-altitude operation arms. The choice of materials is Q235, and the elastic modulus is 206GPa. Poisson's ratio of Q235 is 0.3, and its density is 7850kg / m3. Using PRO/E software to draw a three dimensional models, and then import the models into the finite element software. Besides, we should also definite the material properties and mesh. Imposing constraints and loads based on the actual situation of aerial work platforms,and then solved analytically. According to results of the analysis to identify dangerous section and the danger point on the operation arms. observe the stress and strain values, and find that they are compliant with safety standards, but more than excessive. We can reduce material consumption in order to solve excessive portion of the remainder. Finally, draw the upper and lower arm part and draw the whole assembly drawings.
